End of Year Notes

Wed Dec 24, 2008, 2:16 PM
I could blame my lack of uploads on my computer and faulty internet. It's contracted some form of virus (the computer) and now sporadically shuts down. The internet only works half the time, and usually crashes right before I've managed to save something important and wonderful. However, the accusation would not be true. Indeed, I cannot complain about my computer ruining my chance to upload, because I haven't actually scanned half the art I've drawn.
Now I'm off to a week of spending time in a cold, dark place without internet. Oh no! Whatever did people do without this plethora of wonderfully droll sites to amuse them as they pass the time? I suppose it will be a chance to complete my multitude of art projects...

May everyone (yes, EVERYONE) have a wonderfully exciting non-denominational winter holiday and a prosperous New Year.

Chronicle of Survival

Sat Aug 23, 2008, 12:27 PM
I received a neat little postcard in the mail. It's handmade out of random pictures and some german text.
What's most interesting, though, is the pictures of nerve endings at the top of the card, with the words "Chronicle of Suervival" written across it.

I'm thinking that'll be the title of the comic strip jissai and I plan to remake.

First, I need to get her the script...

Snail Mail Anyone?

Fri Aug 15, 2008, 7:20 PM
So, I'm not sure how successful I'll be, considering my site doesn't get a lot of notice, but I want to try a project I've been contemplating.

I want to draw/paint/whatever, but at the moment I'm having trouble creating. Sooooooo, I've decided to solve this in a decidedly me sort of way.

I shall combine my love of doodling with my love of letter writing, and agree to send an art piece/letter to the first 5 people who request it. By SNAIL MAIL. Because, really, receiving something by PO is very cooler than getting it as an attachment. And this way I'll have a reason to draw as well as motivation.

...

I could, of course, simply send drawings to my friends, since they're most likely the only ones to actually agree to this insane plan, but I'm not sure if I'd actually go through with it.

What can I say? I'm the master of all projects left unfinished.

Anyhow, just pop me a comment saying you want mail (along with specifications to the request. That way you can get something you want), and then send me an email with your address.

And if you're worried about my credibility, then please, don't trust me. I don't want anyone having nightmares because they're worried about the security of the Internet. Do note, however, that any emails I do receive with addresses, I delete asap, because I'm always afraid of what may happen with the info. I know this isn't much, but I feel it's better than nothing at all. It's a good thing to be paranoid, especially when it come the web.

1000...Cougars?

Thu Jul 31, 2008, 10:41 AM
I know, I know, 1000 may not seem like an impressive number to some. However, ever since the 4th-Grade-Soda-Tab-Project, I have come to appreciate just how many soda tabs that is. So yay.

Normally I'd be a little more ecstatic about such a feat, but since I happen to have just read the news, I'm feeling a a little gloomy. Outside is a very scary, very sick place.

Speaking of outside, there's apparently a 4-foot 50 lb cougar wandering around campus. Can you believe it? A cougar in suburbia. Hah.

You say Spam, I say War

Tue Jul 8, 2008, 6:28 AM
What does one do when they're a web programmer at a University during summer break? Start an inter-office Spam War of course.

Yes, in between playing with flash, playing with dreamweaver, and drinking gallons of coffee, I moderate the ResLife Spam War. I also occupy myself with coming up with things to write on our blog (www.reslifewar.blogspot.com).

Now, normally I'd protest such a 'tedious' task, but since the latest season of Doctor Who has come to an end, I now have far too much free time.
Yes, my nightly schedule revolves around Torchwood, Doctor Who, and Stargate reruns...

How depressing.

In real news, I haven't been updating much because my time is spent either working or house hunting. Luckily, I think I've found a fairly cheap place to live, and I've also completed some of my work projects.

Soon I hope to be uploading more.
